About Me

Behind the Lens / Meet the Fur-tographer

I like my plate FULL…..of tasty food, cotton candy sunsets, sandy paws, paddling on the bay, fire pits, and of course…..FULL of my furry companions!!!!  Most days you can catch me snapping images of furry friends, enjoying the sunshine and outdoors, volunteering for a local rescue, or training a special pooch.

While I am always looking to learn and love new and interesting things, many of my passions have always remained the same over the years. Beautiful tattoos and other interesting art work always catch my eye. I am drawn to working with the most challenging and fearful dogs and love to watch them blossom and grow through practice and patience.  Music is everything to me. I survive on coffee , a little bit of organized chaos, a flexible vegan diet and TACOS!  I also hate to wear shoes that I have to tie ~ weird right??? Flip flops or slip in sneaks only for me!

After 10 years as an elementary school teacher, I swapped out human kiddos for the furry kind and began my dog training career full time in 2012.  I have found my niche in teaching both companion and fearful dogs alongside their owners. After a year in business, it was only natural to combine my training knowledge, love of all things furry and passion for photography ~ and so Tara Lausch Photography was evolved!

I truly feel a connection to every single dog that I meet, deep in my soul. This, along with my knowledge and understanding of canine behavior allows my photos to be playful, expressive, and dynamic. Every time I “click”, I hope to CAPTURE YOUR JOY and freeze it in time.

"Tara captured Fiona's free spiritedness while at the same time ensuring we were safe and engaged. The attention to detail, including natural lighting and the background, yielded awesome results. I now have memories that I can cherish forever."

Lara, Fiona's Mom

"Tara is absolutely amazing. She has photographed three of my dogs and the photographs are wonderful. They catch the sparkle in their eyes, the happiness of the their smile and just the pure enjoyment of the moment that my pups are having! She was so patient with them and me! We did shots all over town and I was thinking if I got one or two good ones I would be happy I had so many I didn't know which ones to choose! Her photos hang in my house on canvas and everyone that comes always compliments me on how wonderful they are! I might be bias but I think they all look pretty wonderful too!"
